Frontline health facilities needed practical tools to manage funds and govern well.
Primary health care centres and their ward development committees play a central role in community health. Strong financial management and governance at this level help resources reach patients and keep facilities accountable to the communities they serve.
What we did
A tool built for PHC staff and ward committees.
Under the USAID-funded Integrated Health Project implemented by Palladium, Kustos supported the National Primary Health Care Development Agency to develop a financial management and governance tool for health workers and ward development committee members.
- Designed the financial management and governance tool
- Developed accompanying training manuals and job aids
- Trained over 1,000 PHC staff in two Nigerian states to apply it
The result
Adopted as a national tool.
The tool, with its training manuals and job aids, has been adopted as a national tool and is hosted on the NPHCDA website.
